Notes and Guidance for Walkers
Booking in advance is not generally required for EBR walks. In most cases you can just turn up at the start before the scheduled start time and join the walk. However, some walk leaders may wish to limit the number of walkers, perhaps because of space available at the start, in which case the number will be shown in the walk entry on the EBR website. In these cases the leader may prefer to know in advance who is planning to join the walk, and any requirement to book will be shown in the walk entry. You can ask the leader about the walk or let them know you will be coming by sending an email through the Ramblers system using the link in the walk entry. Please include your name, phone number and email address in your email, and if you later decide not to walk, please let the leader know so they don’t wait for you at the start.
If the leader of a walk collects details of the participants, the details will be deleted after 21 days.
Please follow Government rules and guidelines for social distancing as described here on the Ramblers website. We recommend you read About Group Walks before going for a walk.
A useful collection of walks can be found in John Harris's Walking in England website, with listings for Berkshire, Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire. These walks mostly come from other collections, and are free to download and print.
